I’m worried I might lose control or the day won't be as I wanted
This is a common concern. When we work with our clients we can keep you in the loop 1% or 101%, it’s up to you. All the decisions and choices are ultimately yours and we work really hard to get to know you, your personality and your style so that your day is exactly what you imagined. We listen to everything you say and at every stage we check back with you to make sure we are on the right track. We also use an online project management tool that you can log into 24 hours a day to see how things are going, what’s been done and what still needs to be organised.
Shouldn’t I be able to arrange my own wedding?
If you haven’t been professionally trained in project-management, negotiating skills, time management skills, communication skills and organisation skills then why should you be expected to arrange your wedding on top of all your current commitments at work and home? An average wedding takes over 250 hours to arrange, which is working full time for more than 6 weeks! Choosing a planner to do all the boring research and paperwork whilst leaving you all the decisions and fun bits is the sensible way to plan your wedding without the stress and hassle.
How come the prices are fixed rather than % of budget like most other planners?
We like to keep things simple for our clients and us. We know that keeping to budget is an important part of planning your wedding and we appreciate that you need to know exactly how much you are going to be paying out rather than having a continuously changing figure. Not only that but we also pride ourselves on our ability to negotiate great supplier rates for our clients and can’t see the incentive to do this for you when we are charging a % of budget.
Will you be there on the day to make sure everything runs smoothly?
Absolutely! You don’t think we’d miss the chance to see how much joy our hard work has created would you? We are on hand from early in the morning until your final guest goes home and all the time in between. We will make sure all the suppliers arrive on time and everything is set up exactly to your requirements and throughout the day will continuously monitor the smooth running of the day. We also do the little things you’d expect such as keep checking toilets are clean and tidy, make sure elderly guests are ok, clearing up broken glasses and safely collecting up left handbags and cameras.
How do you decide which suppliers to use, do you take commission?
We never take commissions from our suppliers, any savings we make are always passed on to our clients and because of this we are always completely impartial when selecting suppliers for your wedding. We chose suppliers on their personality and style that we know will compliment your wedding and their professionalism and expertise.
Aren’t wedding planners an American thing?
You’re right, wedding planners in the US are very popular and about 90% of brides use planners there. The amount of couples hiring a planner in UK, although small in comparison, is increasing year after year and now around 20% of couples see the massive benefits of hiring a planner.
We are working to a tight budget, why should we spend another 2k on a planner?
This is a question we often get asked and is best answered simply as complete peace of mind. Frequently in the media lately there are stories of companies going bust and not delivering to couples getting married. Every supplier we use is an established company with a great reputation and service – we guarantee you will not lose your deposit when dealing with the suppliers we use. Not only that but because we use some of our suppliers 10 or 15 times a year, rather than the once in a lifetime that you will use them we have great negotiating power with them and they generally do us good deals on their prices, so good in fact that we regularly save our couples the majority of our fee.
What kind of people hire planners, is it just celebrities and aristocrats?
Absolutely not, we work with clients from a huge variety of backgrounds. The majority of our clients are just like you though, they want a really nice wedding that reflects their own personality and style and because they have full-time jobs and hectic lifestyles then they just haven’t got the 250 hours it takes to arrange a wedding as well as do everything else they have to do in life. We have had clients that are doctors, lawyers, solicitors, and accountants amongst many others.
